Everything runs locally — indexing, search, rendering. No telemetry, no cloud upload, no account. The app only ever reads your PST; it never writes back to it.
Questions
Do I need Outlook or Microsoft 365 installed?
No. The app parses the PST/OST format directly, so it works on any Windows 10/11 PC with nothing Office-related installed. It only needs the free Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, which already ships with Windows 11.
Installer or portable — which should I pick?
The installer gives Start-menu and desktop shortcuts plus a proper uninstaller — best for your own PC. The portable build is a single self-contained .exe you can drop on a USB stick or a locked-down machine and run with no install.
Will it change or damage my PST file?
No. The app opens your PST strictly read-only. Your flags, tags and notes are stored in a separate local sidecar file and are never written back into the PST.
Why does Windows SmartScreen warn me?
The builds aren't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a caution the first time you run a new build. Click More info → Run anyway to continue.
