How it works

Enter a value and choose the unit to convert from. The tool converts between all common cooking volume units — teaspoons, tablespoons, fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, millilitres, and litres — as well as common weight units (grams, ounces, pounds). All conversions use standard US cup measurements. Results update instantly in your browser.

Common use cases

  • Scaling a recipe up or down and needing to convert cup fractions.
  • Following a recipe that uses metric millilitres when you only have imperial measuring cups.
  • Converting a US recipe to metric for a European kitchen.

Frequently asked questions

Are these US or UK cups?

US cups (240 ml). UK cups are slightly different (250 ml). For UK recipes, the difference is small enough to ignore in most cases, but use millilitres for precision.

Does this convert dry ingredients like flour or sugar?

The volume conversions work for any ingredient, but volume-to-weight conversions (e.g. cups to grams) depend on the ingredient density. This tool shows weight conversions for water-density reference only.
